Research was conducted through competitive analysis, review mining of existing baby-care apps, and informal discussions with parents to understand real-world needs. Insights revealed that parents prioritize speed, clarity, and trust when logging sensitive data, especially during stressful or time-sensitive moments. These findings guided decisions around simplified navigation, modular features, and quick-access interactions.
The design focused on clarity, calmness, and ease of use, keeping anxious and sleep-deprived parents in mind. Information was structured into clearly defined modules with quick, low-effort logging and a centralized baby profile as the primary hub. Along with the in-app experience, I also designed the BabyGrow app icon, ensuring it reflected warmth, trust, and healthcare reliability while staying recognizable across app stores and smartwatch interfaces.
The project was developed in close collaboration with product managers and developers, ensuring feasibility across Android, iOS, and smartwatch platforms. Design handoffs emphasized scalability, data accuracy, and cross-platform consistency. Continuous iteration during development helped refine flows, improve performance, and maintain a seamless tracking experience across devices.
The core idea behind BabyGrow was to create a single, reliable companion for new parents by simplifying newborn care tracking without overwhelming them. The product was envisioned as both a healthcare tracker and a digital memory journal, balancing medical accuracy with an emotionally reassuring experience. The focus was on reducing friction, improving consistency in tracking, and supporting parents during the most demanding early stages of childcare.
